We’re bringing an end to a month jam packed with activity in celebration of Women’s History Month, and now a sense of global angst and uncertainty. For some, March already feels like an entire year due to the on-going global pandemic and economic downturn. We, however, want you to know that, as a small business, we’re committed to meeting your needs as it relates to community and coffee throughout this time and beyond. Rest assured that we’ve taken steps to ensure that all coffee deliveries are sanitary, “contact-free,” and expedient. Thank you for your support through regular coffee orders, SWAG orders, and social media engagement!
As we bring an end to Women’s History Month, I want to take a moment to thank the women farm workers throughout Haiti, Nicaragua, and the rest of the global south without whom our coffee community would cease to exist. I believe that, together, we can create a world where women aren’t simply placeholders for “diversity and inclusion,” but recognized across the board as contributors who are deserving of equal pay for their work, creativity, and the contributions they make in their spheres of influence.
To underscore our commitment to women around the world we partnered with the #SHE_BUILDS Global Initiative, which works to support and inspire women entrepreneurs, creators, and innovators. Together we developed our first blend, the #SHE_BUILDS Coffee Blend made with Ethiopian and Haitian coffee beans. This blend imparts notes of sweet blueberries and maple syrup with a smooth finish. It’s a blend that celebrates the strength of female builders and will keep you fueled throughout the day!
Finally, know that we’re actively looking for innovative ways to better serve you while being a part of your daily routine. Since social distancing doesn’t have to mean relational disconnect, Gai and I have decided to relaunch our podcast “Kafe with David & Gai” to better serve you where you’re at. You’ll be able to tune in via IGTV, YouTube, Apple Podcast, and Spotify.
